This culture medium complies with the recommendations of the United States Pharmacopeia XXVI (2003) and the European Pharmacopeia II.

Typical Composition (g/litre)
Peptone 10.0;
D(+)glucose 40.0;
agar-agar 15.0.

Preparation
Suspend 65 g/litre, autoclave (15 min at 121 °C).
Do not overheat.
pH: 5.6 ± 0.2 at 25 °C.
The plates are clear and yellowish-brown.
